Using different price designs based on product priority (A, B, C)

Not all products are equally important. Make sure those that should stand out actually do so.

Updated over a week ago

Often, Priority A products should stand out visually compared to Priority B and C products.

One effective way to achieve this is by using different visual elements, for example with different price box designs depending on the product’s priority.

📖 In this guide, we’ll go through:

Why use different elements for product priorities?

Product priorities (A, B, C) are typically used to signal commercial importance, campaign focus or relevance.

Using different price boxes or simply differing sizes allows you to:

  • Visually emphasize Priority A products

  • Guide reader attention toward key offers

  • Create a clearer hierarchy in the leaflet

A common example is using a larger or more eye-catching price box for A products, while B and C products use simpler or more compact elements.

This article explains how product priority affects price box selection, and how this can be handled automatically or manually.

Before we begin…

Before different price boxes can be implemented in your leaflet, iPaper will need to add it on your account – please reach out to us at support@ipaper.io

Automatic price box selection (based on briefing data)

If product priority is defined in your briefing data, the system can automatically assign the right price box for each priority product.

How it works

  • Each product in the briefing is marked as Priority A, B, or C

  • The layout logic checks the priority value

  • A predefined price box is applied based on that priority

    • Priority A → Emphasized price box

    • Priority B → Standard price box

    • Priority C → Minimal or compact price box

Benefits

  • Consistent visual hierarchy across the leaflet

  • Less manual work

  • Faster production

This is the recommended approach when priorities are already in your briefing data.

Manual priority selection in the Horizon admin

In some cases, you may want to override or fine-tune the automatic behavior. This can be done manually in the admin.

Typical use-cases

  • The briefing data does not include priority information

  • You want to highlight just a few products

  • Final layout adjustments before publishing

How to set priority manually

  1. Select the product or product module in the admin

  2. Select the desired priority

The selected priority overrides the default behavior and will add the correct price box.

This allows you to manually add different price boxes for different priority products.

Best practices

  • Use automatic priority-based elements by default for consistency and scalability

  • Reserve manual overrides for exceptions and special cases

  • Communicate with the iPaper team to set up the rules for A, B and C priority behavior

Summary

By linking product priority (A, B, C) to different visual elements, such as price boxes, you can create a clearer and more effective product hierarchy.

This can be handled automatically through briefing data or manually in the admin, depending on your needs.

Doing so helps ensure that your most important products get the attention they deserve.
