Sales Price aside 1 & 2: What they are and how to use them

Sales Price asides can help your products stand out and create urgency.

Updated over a week ago

Price is important in leaflets and catalogs. Always has been, always will be.

Price boxes help guide the reader’s eye, clearly highlight pricing and create a consistent, on-brand shopping experience.

For Horizon, iPaper creates the price box design for you, matching your brand colors, typography, and overall visual style.

But, for many brands, a price box is not just a simple box with numbers. Often, additional information is added to make the product stand out, make the price more enticing and show validity or quantity limits.

These elements can be added to your price boxes by using Sales Price asides.

This article explains how Sales Price aside 1 and Sales Price aside 2 work and how to use them.

What are Sales Price asides?

In Horizon, Sales Price asides are design elements with text that are added around the general price box design.

Sales Price aside 1 is typically used to place additional information on top of the price box, while Sales Price aside 2 is often used to add extra information below the price box.

Which of the two offers draws your attention the most?

There’s a large difference – both in terms of design and feel of the offer – between the price box for the product on the right (no Sales Price asides), and the price box for the product on the left (with Sales Price aside 1 & 2)

How to get Sales Price asides on your account

Sales Price asides require designing elements that, at this time, can only be created by iPaper.

How to enable Price box aside 1 and 2

Given that Sales Price aside elements have been set up for you by iPaper, you can add them to offers in two different ways.

Option 1: Via briefing data

If you use iPaper’s Standard Briefing Data, you can enable Sales Price aside 1 and 2 by populating the columns in the file.

When you then create the leaflet using that file, the Sales Price aside will be there.

Option 2: Via the iPaper admin

You can also enable Sales Price asides directly in the iPaper admin.

In the editor, select the product you want to add Sales Price asides for. In the Content panel on the right-hand side, you will find the fields:

Entering a value in either of these fields will activate the corresponding Sales Price aside for that offer.

Alternatively, you can use different price box designs

If you have several price box designs, you can make it so that different priority products have different price boxes. Learn more in our guide:
