We’re currently migrating all Horizon customers to an upgraded version of Themes: Page Themes.
You don’t need to take any action, but before continuing, it’s useful to check which version your account is using.
How to check if you’re migrated to Page Themes
If your Horizon account was created after March 2026, you automatically have Page Themes.
If your account was created before or during March 2026, you should check if you're migrated to Page Themes:
Log in to the Horizon Admin
Look at the left-hand menu
If it says Themes, your account is not yet migrated
If it says Page Themes, your account is already using the new version
👉 If you’re on Themes, please read our guide here:
👇 If you’re on Page Themes, continue below.
📖 In this guide, we’ll go through:
Why the switch from Themes to Page Themes?
When a leaflet was created with Themes, the token values (CTA color, background color, etc.) of that Theme was simply copied unto the leaflet. If you then later changed the Theme, those changed wouldn't be reflected in your live leaflet.
Page Themes, on the other hand, act as continuous references for your leaflets:
Any changes you make to a Page Theme are automatically reflected across all pages using that Page Theme
Which means you don't need to manually update each of your leaflets if you change a Page Theme
So, the switch to Page Themes is made to 1) reduce manual work to save you time, and 2) ensure your live leaflets always match your recent changes.
What are Page Themes?
In Horizon, a Page Theme is a collection of design settings that controls the visual branding of a page.
A Page Theme can include settings like:
Background colors
CTA (call-to-action) colors
Text colors
Fonts
Borders and styling
Instead of styling each element individually on every offer on a page, a Page Theme bundles these settings together and applies them on the entire leaflet, a page or a section.
Think of a Page Theme as a ready-made branding or themed preset a page.
What's the benefits of Page Themes?
Without Page Themes, you would need to manually set colors, fonts and borders for a new leaflet. And then you would’ve to do it again the next time.
That quickly becomes repetitive, time-consuming and it increases the risk of mistakes and branding inconsistencies.
Examples of three different Page themes with different backgrounds, CTA color and text color used for different sections of a leaflet.
Page Themes are designed to save you time and ensure consistency. With Page Themes, you:
Set up once
Reuse it across multiple pages and leaflets
Always have Page Theme changes directly reflected in your leaflets
Another benefit of Page Themes, compared to Themes, is that you have much more control at which 'level' you want to apply a Page Theme:
Applying Page Themes on various content levels
Though the automation will select a default Page Theme when you create a new leaflet, you can still manually change Page Themes and where they are applied.
This gives you full flexibility, while still benefiting from automation selecting a default Page Theme for your leaflet.
On the entire leaflet
1. Click the ‘brush’ icon
2. Select the Page Theme to apply to the entire leaflet
On a specific section
1. Click the ‘gear’ icon on the section’s Scratchpad
2. Hover over ‘Set page themes’
3. Select the Page Theme to apply to that section
On individual pages
1. Click the ‘gear’ icon next to the page
2. Hover over ‘Change page theme’
3. Select the Page Theme you want to apply to the page
Area themes
With Page Themes, you can create also area themes. These allow you to:
Design more advanced layouts
Easily create patterns like checkerboards
Apply different styling within defined areas of a page
For example, in this Page Theme, there are three area themes (1, 2 and 3).
To create a new area theme, simply click ‘+ New area theme”.
How to use area themes
Select the desired area on your page
In the right-hand panel, click, or use your number keys on your keyboard, to assign a specific area theme from the overall Page Theme
Summary
We’re currently in the process of migrating all our customers from Themes to Page Themes. You don’t need to do anything in this process.
Page Themes are predefined design settings in Horizon that control the look (e.g. colors, fonts, and styling) of your leaflet, a page or section. Instead of styling each element manually, you apply a Page Theme to ensure consistency and save time.
Page Themes can be reused across leaflets, pages and sections and automatically update everywhere when edited.
Page Themes also support area themes for more advanced layouts within a page, such as checkerboard patterns.
Overall, Page Themes make it faster and easier to create leaflets and maintain consistent branding.
